Semi common RX-8 issue when this part fails. Usually it degrades slowly, showing signs at cranking.

Symptoms of failing CAS:
-Sometimes the car starts quick, sometimes not even a single cough during cranking
-Tachometer needle jumping around during cranking
-Check engine code P0335, P0336 present
-Tachometer does not move when cranking and engine does not start
